$1,500

Sapling Package

(Includes Seedling Package)

Starts with an onsite review of your goals/needs/wants/resources followed by a thorough walk and talk. Greg will meet onsite prepared with topographical, satellite, and soil maps of your site on which to sketch the design you build together. Afterward he will digitally build the design and share it via Google Earth Pro and follow up with a 1 hour phone call. One revision is included with another follow-up call, though not often necessary.

These designs are referenced to the real world and can be rolled over into a Fruitful Full Design and Implementation Package in the future or staked out as needed for the DIY installer. For large sites or very complex situations another team member may be required for the initial site visit for an extra $300.

Fruitful Full Design and Implementation Package

This is the “turn-key” option where we take care of everything to get your functional farm/homestead/permaculture paradise up and running and off to a productive start!

Includes everything in the Seedling and Sapling Packages plus:

-Full layout of the design on the ground using modern surveying equipment for accurate placement of keyline design elements like roads, buildings, ponds, field ripping, tree plantings, etc.

  • Contracting of required earthworks like ponds, roads, and soil ripping with one of Greg’s trusted earth movers (not all excavators are the same!)

  • Ground preparation

  • Supply, planting, and protection of all plants

  • On going maintenance as required

  • A review of grant funding opportunities that potentially apply to your situation

Because of the extreme variability in sites, personal contexts, and goals, pricing starts with the Sapling Package and will need to be estimated on a case-by-case basis after that.

Companion Services

Walk and Talk

Walk and Talks start with a review of your goals and the questions on the intake form. This usually takes about an hour and is crucial to guide Greg in his recommendations. Next we walk the property for at least an hour discussing your site and it’s potential.

Prepare to take notes, this is just a consultation and advising session and does not include mapping or layout work.

Pricing: $200 + $75/hour for additional time if needed beyond the 2 hours allotted + $0.70/mile from Greg’s home outside of Berkeley Springs, WV. 3-5 hour walk and talks are not uncommon.

Top Working/Field Grafting – Greg can graft select varieties onto established trees on your property; can be done with mulberries, pears, apples, persimmons, honey locust, cherries, and pawpaws - for example: a Bradford Pear can have a choice pear grafted onto it and no longer do you have stinky flowers, you have yummy fruit!

Price to be estimated on a case-by-case basis

Layout and Site Marking – This varies based on the site, complexity of the layout, and how many team members will be required.

Keyline Ripping – A very effective strategy for building soil, reducing erosion, and infiltrating rainwater into our drought-ridden soils. We can design, stake out, and rip the soil along a keyline plan so your field will infiltrate all rainwater with no runoff or erosion.
